The urban Sprawl is a worldwidephenomenon that appears as a consequence of the paradigmatic wish to live in the countryside but getting the best out of the advantages of being close to a big city, getting connected to their-lots of timesoverdimensioned- transport infrastructures.Hgans is a clear example of this trendas a consequence of its closeness to bigger cities such as Helsingborg, Malm or Copenhagen.

One of the most evident consequences of Sprawl is the creation of alow density extensive housing fabric that is the same everywhere in the world, a neutral and locally unidentified urban fabric. We refuse to think that an urban fabric is something that you can export and repeat over and over again. Each of it has its place and its local conditions And we are going to look for a new characteristic fabric for Hgans!

There are places where its natural land is not valued, but in Hgans is one oftheir most important values We do not want to continue with this extensive and erasing dynamics!We do want the new intensive urbanfabric for Hgans to be an example of the opposite, a fabric that does not diminish or erase the natural land surface, but protects it.

For that purpose we suggest to forget thinking about fabrics or areas and start thinking about dots.

Instead of consuming vast quantities of natural and valuable agricultural land to build new detached houses, we promote another different attitude: the precise choice of a few points of intervention, so that we let with no changes the rest of the area.This new way of acting does not mean less future inhabitants, but more concentrated ones.

Once we have identified the dots, it is so easy, we only need to connect them this is intensive sustainability!


Before start connecting dots, we should rethink and reconnect the problematic 111 and 112 roads, examples of the evident overdimensioned traffic system of Hgans.

For the 111 road we propose a small change that will bring great improvements: the change and displacement of the road profile. This way, there is a more fair distribution between cars and pedestrians, putting aside the lack of a public and friendly space within it. We also propose to enlarge the above bridge in order to improve the green area connection trough both sides of the city.

For the 112 road our proposal is firm: the city could survive without a segment of it. This change could get more pros than cons to the project site, creating a global area without any kind of narrow and useless urban voids (result of the previous existing traffic system position).

Now we are ready to start connecting the points selected for the project site to be the new housing and facilities units, points chosen and distributed precisely so they do not interfere with each other at all.

These new plugging lines intelligently check and read the site, connecting and solving the existing dead end streets issue; weaving an effective net between the housing dots and the landscape.Within these lines, new friendly green rings are created. They are ready to get a more comfortable life for the new inhabitants of Hgans.


Contrary to the inflexible current situation of Hgans, with specially one-owner houses, we suggest buildings to have more than one owner: young people, families or elder people.

We suggest buildings with different uses and sizes: owned properties and daily or monthly rented houses, commercial and even industrial technological.
